This is probably the number one question asked by the public when approaching a new training or diet regime.

There are many techniques you can apply to lose weight and many opinions of what is considered to be the most effective way to lose weight.

In order to ‘attack the fat’ you need to implement a combination of several different factors in order to lose weight responsibly.

The two main factors being DIET and EXERCISE.

The two go hand in hand; some argue that the diet is the most important factor. There is an abundance of diet and nutrition advice on the internet and at gyms, however, not all advice is aimed towards the general public, and instead is often aimed at fitness fanatics and regular gym goers.

So what should the general public look to incorporate when wanting to lose weight?

A great place to start would be by eliminating high calorific food choices and replacing them with healthier options. By ‘cleaning’ up your diet and introducing exercise, you will be on the right path to achieving your weight loss goals.

Losing weight does not have to be complicated; here is some advice on how to get fit, and 3 simple ways in which you can become a fitter, healthier, lighter you:

RULE 1

Cut out ‘Fast Foods’ and ‘Takeaways’ 

Yes, resorting to fast foods and takeaways is a convenient way of eating, however, the majority of which are extremely unhealthy and should not fit into any diet program. Do not give in to the convenience, most are very high in saturated fats and will hinder physical progression massively.

RULE 2

Eat more fruit and veg!

Do not underestimate the importance of eating fruit and vegetables! It is a very simple, yet, a very effective way of introducing vitamins, minerals and antioxidants into your diet. Often overlooked by many but it is a great way to boost your immune and digestive systems, creating a healthier more energetic you!

RULE 3

EXERCISE!

In order to lose weight, you need to burn more calories than your body is consuming. Therefore exercising is the only way in which you can make this happen. Whether it’s going for a jog in the park, joining in a fitness class or hiring a personal trainer, exercise along with a sound diet is the most efficient way an individual can lose weight responsibly AND BE CONSISTENT!
