Where To Find A Personal Trainer

There are several ways in which you can find a personal trainer in your area. If you are a member of a gym and attend regularly, you will find that there are many 'in house' personal trainers available and offering their services.

A lot of 'PTs' specialise in their own field, most offer 'one on one' sessions with the aim being weight loss, strength and conditioning, biomechanics and physiotherapy. However many personal trainers also offer a wide variety of classes to their clients such as Spin, Zumba, Boxercise and Funky Pump.

If you are a member of a gym then the majority of them will have advertising boards specifically for personal trainers where they can advertise their services to members of that gym.

If you are not a member of a gym then the question of 'where can I find a personal trainer' may be slightly more difficult to find an answer to.  Many personal trainers these days use a variety of online and offline marketing techniques to advertise their services. Online, in the form of social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. Offline, in the form of paper back business directories, newspapers and posters, flyers etc.

The internet is proving to be the most effective way of advertising for personal trainers. Many PTs have their own personal websites and can be found in search engines such as Google and Bing.

The majority of personal trainers rely heavily on the use of the internet as their main way of advertising, so if you do not have the use of the internet at home, then your best option would be to head down to your local gym or leisure centre and enquire on a face to face basis. You do not have to be a member of that specific gym to use one of its personal trainers as many trainers will offer their services away from a gym environment. Some have set up outdoor boot camps where they train clients in a local park for example, where light equipment may be used but the main tool for exercise is the great outdoors. There are also some personal trainers that offer home visits, again very light equipment being used but they are still qualified to give you a session in the comfort of your own home.
